Review: FIVE Palm Jumeirah Hotel

  Περίληψη
💡 I booked the Superior Room for a 1-day stay for 998.18 AED (€238.67), but was upgraded to the Luxe Sea View at no extra charge. FIVE Palm Jumeirah is a luxury party focused hotel located on the trunk of the Palm, blending a beach club vibe by day with a nightlife-focused energy after dark.
The Luxe Sea View room was modern, clean, and comfortable, with good views. While not ultra-luxurious, it delivered well for the price —stylish and functional, with no unnecessary extras.
Service was solid throughout. Check-in was smooth, and staff were polite and responsive. When I got sick, they helped arrange a pharmacy and food delivery, which I appreciated.
Food quality was decent but forgettable. The selection was fine, but nothing matched the standard or variety of higher-end resorts like Atlantis. Dining here plays second fiddle to the social experience.
Facilities include a social pool, private beach, rooftop pool, and beach club, all built around a party-focused atmosphere. The hotel is also home to The Penthouse, one of Dubai’s top rooftop lounges, along with a spa, gym, and event spaces.
The overall vibe is young, flashy, and social. Daytimes are relaxed and chill; nights shift into party mode. You won’t find much serenity here, and it’s not designed for families or travelers seeking quiet.
No major downsides, but this isn’t a match for those looking for ultra-luxury or a peaceful retreat. It knows its niche and leans into it hard.
FIVE Palm is on the lower end of the luxury pricing scale for the Palm, and it offers great value for social travelers who care more about energy and aesthetics than refinement. I’d return—but only if I were in the mood to socialize and party.
  Detailed Breakdown: FIVE Palm Jumeirah

   Arrival & Check-In / Departue & Check

 - Check-in starts at 3 PM, and check-out is at 12 PM. The process was efficient and smooth. As soon as I exited my Uber, the staff promptly took my luggage to my room and provided me with a ticket to track it.
 - Otherwise, there wasn't any special gesture from the hotel staff upon arrival.

  Bedroom / Living Room

 - I had originally booked a Superior Room at the FIVE Palm Jumeirah Dubai, but I was fortunate enough to receive a complimentary upgrade to a Luxe Sea View room, which I'll be detailing.
 - The room itself was quite compact. Everything was in order, but there was nothing particularly outstanding about it, and it didn't have a balcony. My impression was that it's primarily designed for sleeping and getting ready, with guests spending the better part of their day outside the room.

 - The bed and pillows were comfortable. On the nightstand beside the bed, you'll find various electrical outlets, filtered water, and other amenities.

 - In the room, you'll find a Nespresso coffee machine, coffee capsules, cups, utensils, and tea, all provided free of charge. On the other hand, for an extra fee, you can access the minibar, which offers a wide selection of alcoholic beverages, condoms, and various snacks.

 - The view was absolutely beautiful. The room overlooked the beach, the promenade, and the Dubai cityscape. Unfortunately, this particular room did not come with a balcony. It's highly recommended to book a room with a balcony, especially during the not-too-hot winter season, so you can comfortably enjoy Dubai from outside.

 - While the room doesn't include a universal power adapter, you can easily request one from the reception desk.

 - Beyond that, the room includes a small armchair and a glass table, which aren't ideal for working or using a laptop, but perfect for enjoying a Jack Daniels.

 - Below the television (opposite of the bed), there's a narrow, wall-mounted desk and chair, which is a much better setup for operating a laptop.

  Bathroom

 - Regarding the bathroom, I can say that it was also adequate and compact, but nothing outstanding. It features a decent bathtub, a shower, and a bidet, along with all the basic necessities like towels, a hairdryer, a vanity kit, soap, shampoo, and so on.

 - The bathtub is comfortable, but due to its placement, it's not possible to fully stretch out, as the wall prevents it—at least for taller people like me. Otherwise, you can comfortably sit up in it. Amenities like bubble bath gel or a brush were not provided.

In the bathroom, you'll find a classic vanity kit, which contains essential toiletries for ear, teeth, and skin cleaning.
 - Naturally, the bathroom also includes a toilet and bidet, which look like this.

 - Finally, here's the shower, which is equipped with shampoo, shower gel, and conditioner.

  Breakfast

 - The breakfast section at the FIVE Palm was adequate, but both the variety and quality were average. While most classic hotel breakfast items were available, it doesn't come close to what the Atlantis offers.
 - Now let's look at the offerings. We'll start with the classic muesli section.

 - Next up is the beverage section, where you can choose from a variety of fruit juices.

 - Next is the classic bakery section, featuring croissants, muffins, and doughnuts.

 - And of course, the fresh fruit section is also available, featuring watermelon, bananas, mango, and various fruit yogurts, among other options.

 - Next, there was a cooked food section.

 - After that comes a green salad section.

 - Naturally, there's also a breakfast section featuring eggs and bacon.

Naturally, there's also a breakfast section featuring eggs and bacon.
- What I particularly liked about the cafeteria was the open-air section, which I found incredibly iconic. The combination of the pool, relaxed environment and the FIVE Palm's trendy design simply created a wonderfully atmospheric ambiance for me.

 - After having breakfast, it turned out there was a similarly atmospheric second indoor breakfast section.

 - Here, they serve the exact same dishes as in the other breakfast area.

 - I personally found the food presentation much more appealing here.

 - And finally, there's also a classic bread section.

Lunch
- If you're on a half-board plan, there's really no need to worry about lunch. A hearty breakfast will easily keep you going until 6 PM, when dinner service begins.
 - However, if you do find yourself craving a bite, a wealth of dining options await you both within and outside the hotel.

Dinner
- Unfortunately, due to illness, I wasn't able to attend dinner, but that's something I'll make up for in the future. Let's take a look at the dinner options available.

- BLVD on One – International brasserie with indoor and outdoor seating. Known for its big buffet breakfasts (Middle Eastern, Asian, and Western options), plus relaxed all-day dining.
 - Cinque – Vibrant Italian restaurant inspired by the Amalfi Coast. Serves handmade pastas, seafood, and rich desserts in a lively, colorful setting.
 - Maiden Shanghai – Award-winning Chinese fine dining spot offering Cantonese, Sichuan, and Beijing classics, all MSG-free. Has a rooftop terrace with skyline views.
 - Praia – Beachfront Mediterranean restaurant by the pool and private beach. Focuses on fresh seafood, tapas-style sharing plates, and cocktails at sunset.
 - The Penthouse – Famous rooftop lounge and nightclub with incredible Dubai Marina views. Serves Japanese-fusion bites alongside champagne, cocktails, and international DJs.
 - Beach by FIVE – A buzzing beach club with daybeds, DJs, and a party vibe. Food includes sushi, pizzas, grilled meats, and refreshing drinks right on the sand.
 - The Delisserie – A chic café and bakery with pastries, cakes, fresh juices, and light meals — perfect for a casual coffee or quick bite.
 - Pool Bar – Swim-up style bar offering snacks, burgers, salads, and cocktails for a laid-back poolside experience.

Indoor Areas
- Overall, there isn't a huge amount to do or see inside the hotel itself. The hotel's true strength lies in its outdoor pool and beach areas, which are the hub for all the parties and events.

 - As soon as you step into the FIVE Palm lobby, you're greeted by an interesting, bright, and glassy space. Here, you can simply look around or head right or left, where you'll find the reception, restaurants, and elevators. Personally, I really liked this lobby.

 - On the right you'll find what is normally an Italian restaurant, but in the mornings, it transforms into a buffet breakfast area.
 - On this same side, you'll also find the reception desk, though unfortunately, I don't have a picture of it.

 - This is what the Italian restaurant looks like inside, which I've already described in more detail in the breakfast section.

 - To the left, you'll find a waiting area where you can also sit down and book services with the concierge. The entrance to the buffet breakfast is located here as well.

Outdoor Areas
 - Stepping out onto the terrace of the FIVE Palm hotel, you're immediately greeted by its signature pool. During the day, it's a perfect spot to relax poolside, while in the evenings, it transforms into the venue for vibrant pool parties.

 - There are plenty of sun loungers on both sides of the pool where you can relax, have drinks, and more.

 - You also have the option to enjoy drinks inside the pool, where you can conveniently store your beverages on small tables.

 - To the left of the pool, in the mornings, there's a buffet breakfast area with tables and chairs. During the day, it operates as a bar restaurant.

 - As we continue, we find more sun loungers and seating areas.

 - After a short walk down some stairs, you'll find a chilled-out restaurant lounge, which, fortunately, is shaded.

 - One part of this area has a classic table-and-chair restaurant setup, while the other offers a high-stool bar-like atmosphere.

 - Continuing our journey, we step out onto one of the Palm Jumeirah's famous promenades. As you stroll along, you'll discover countless shops, restaurants, bars, clubs, and hotels.

 - Continuing straight ahead, we finally reach the FIVE Palm's private beach area, where you can choose a sun lounger, umbrella, or cabana for sunbathing and relaxing by the sea.

 - To the right, you're immediately greeted by a restaurant and bar area.

 - Meanwhile, the iconic hotels of the Palm Jumeirah trunk are within sight, just a 1-minute walk away.

 - The beach itself in Dubai isn't groundbreaking. During the peak winter season, the water can be unpleasantly cold, and the sand is quite coarse, which can irritate your feet. This is true for all hotels. However, at the FIVE Palm, the view of the Dubai cityscape is exceptionally beautiful.

 - The sun loungers are free for guests. Naturally, you can also order various refreshments to your sun lounger.

Service & Hospitality
- I spent a day at the FIVE Palm and unfortunately fell ill. Despite this, I was satisfied with the treatment from the hotel staff. As in all five-star hotels, my luggage was immediately taken to my room. Check-in at reception was quick, and they were very kind to me. I even received a complimentary room upgrade.
 - I didn't have much interaction with the security team, but my interaction with an indoor colleague was normal. I asked an outdoor security guard for directions, and he directed me very decisively and concisely. He actually seemed a bit like club security, a bit more intimidating, but my interaction wasn't negative. However, the security staff at other hotels made a better impression.
 - Overall, I was satisfied with the employees, but I missed those small, unexpected gestures and a slightly warmer welcome.
